Visiting NC State

Find your corner of NC State, then enjoy the rest of Raleigh.

A campus tour, graduation, game, or family visit can lead to a different part of NC State. Start with the building or venue name, choose an easy way to arrive, and leave a little room to explore the city around it.

Find your part of campus

A quick guide to NC State's main visitor areas.

Start with the building or venue name and the rest becomes easier: parking, Wolfline, meeting points, and what to enjoy nearby.

01

Main Campus

Common destinations: Talley Student Union, Reynolds Coliseum, D.H. Hill Jr. Library, the Brickyard, and the Memorial Belltower.

Planning note: Admissions visits begin at Talley Student Union. Tour visitors are currently directed to the paid visitor area in the Coliseum Parking Deck, entered from Cates Avenue.

02

Centennial Campus

Common destinations: James B. Hunt Jr. Library, the Oval, engineering buildings, research facilities, and college-specific destinations.

Planning note: Centennial has its own visitor-parking choices, so use the specific building address and current map for the easiest arrival.

03

Centennial Biomedical Campus

Common destinations: The College of Veterinary Medicine and related biomedical facilities west of the primary academic campuses.

Planning note: The department or clinic can share the most helpful entrance and parking area for your biomedical destination.

04

Carter-Finley and Lenovo Center

Common destinations: Carter-Finley Stadium, Lenovo Center, the State Fairgrounds, and surrounding athletics and event parking areas.

Planning note: This lively event area sits apart from the central academic campus. Football, basketball, commencement, arena shows, and fairgrounds events each share their own arrival tips.

An easy arrival

Choose your parking spot before you arrive.

Each campus and venue has its own visitor areas and accessible routes. Saving the parking destination ahead of time makes the first few minutes much more relaxed.

01

Choose a visitor parking area

Designated visitor pay areas and permits make campus parking straightforward. The interactive map and posted signs will guide you to the right space.

02

Pair the parking area with the destination

Main, Centennial, and Biomedical campuses each have visitor locations. Save the parking destination along with the building address before you set out.

03

Follow the event-day welcome guide

Football, commencement, and arena events often use special lots, entrances, or traffic patterns. The event page will lead you to the right place.

04

Find the most comfortable route

Accessible parking, entrances, seating, and assistance can vary by venue and ceremony. The official accessibility page and event team can help make the visit comfortable.

Moving between campuses

Wolfline offers a free and easy way to move between campuses.

NC State's Wolfline buses welcome the public with no university ID or fare. Routes connect campuses and designated stops, with service adjusted during breaks, holidays, and weather events. The live map makes it easy to see what is running now.

Why you are visiting

Make room for the moments around the main event.

Start with the campus commitment, then add comfortable time for walking, conversation, a meal, and something else in Raleigh.

Prospective students

Let the scheduled visit anchor the day.

Start with the tour location, check-in, and parking, then add the college stops that matter most to the student. A little open time makes the campus easier to enjoy.

Graduation

Give each ceremony its own moment.

The universitywide ceremony and departmental celebrations may happen at different places and times. Keep the tickets, arrival details, parking, meals, and graduate instructions together for each one.

Athletics

Start with the game-day fan guide.

Carter-Finley Stadium and Lenovo Center share event-day tips for parking, entry, bags, and tickets. Following that guide is the easiest way to join the crowd.

Family and alumni visits

Pair one campus favorite with one Raleigh outing.

A campus meal or landmark visit can pair well with a museum, park, downtown activity, or event. Keeping one portion flexible makes the day easier when campus commitments run long.

Move-in and move-out

Let the residence guide the arrival.

Housing communications will share the arrival window, unloading route, parking, and elevator details for the residence. Keeping that message handy can make move-in or move-out much smoother.

Academic and professional visits

Ask your host for the best arrival point.

The exact building, room, suggested parking area, and arrival contact will lead you to the right part of campus with less guesswork.

Easy day ideas

Give the day a shape, not a minute-by-minute schedule.

Use these loose outlines as inspiration, then add the current event time and the Raleigh stops that sound best to you.
